Before you proceed, it is important to keep in mind that you are required to log into your account before you are able to update your profile information.

Your personal information on Instagram includes email, phone number, gender and birthday. When you update your personal information on Instagram, it won’t be part of your public profile on Instagram.

How to change your Instagram email address on a mobile device (iOS or Android)?

Method 1: Update your Personal information in Accounts Centre

Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your phone

Step 2. Tap on your profile followed by tapping a hamburger button (☰) in the top right

Step 3: Tap Settings and Privacy

Step 4: Go to Accounts Center, then click Personal details.

Step 5: Tap on the account for which you’d like to update your information.

Step 6: Tap on Contact Information

Step 7: Tap Add New Contact

Step 8: Make the required changes in your contact information (email or phone number) and birthday. Your date of birth should match across all accounts in the same account center.

Step 9: Once you have updated your personal information, you will be asked to confirm the new email address. You will receive a confirmation email from Instagram in your new email address. Open the email and click on the link to confirm the change.

Your Instagram email address will now be updated.

Method 2: Update your profile information in Accounts using Edit Profile option

Step 1: Open Instagram and from your news feed

Step 2: Tap your Profile icon

Step 3: Tap Edit Profile and tap Personal Information Settings

On the screen that appears, you will see personal information showing contact info, date of birth, identity confirmation and Account ownership’s and controls

Step 4: Tap on Contact Information and then tap Add New Contact

Tap E-mail Address to update your email.

Tap Done in the top right, then tap OK. Follow instruction given on-screen to confirm your email Id.

You will be asked to check and confirm the new email address you entered by clicking a link in an email from Instagram.

If you’re changing your email address associated with multiple Instagram accounts, you’ll need to repeat the process for each account.

How to change your Instagram email address on a desktop computer?

Method 1: Update your Personal information in Accounts Centre

Click Accounts Centre.
Click Personal Details.
Click on the account that needed to be updated.
Click the profile information that you’d like to update then make the updates that you’d like to make.
Click Save.

Method 2: Update your profile information in Accounts using Edit Profile option

1. Open Instagram.com on a web browser and log in to your account

2. Click on your profile picture on the left to go to your profile

3. Select “Edit Profile”.

4. Scroll down to the “Email” field and enter your new email address.

5. Click “Submit” button

6. You will receive a confirmation email from Instagram Ito your new email address. Open the email and click on the link to confirm the change.
